Theme:

Innovation & Sustainability

Rules and Guidelines:

  • Each team can have a maximum of 3 members.
  • Total number of rounds will be 3 – Aptitude, Quiz, and the Final Round: Presentation with Demo Practical.
  • The rounds will be reduced according to the head count.
  • All required materials and equipment should be carried by the participants.
  • The event will be conducted in offline mode only.
  • The number of slides for the presentation would be a maximum of 12.
  • The time duration for the presentation should be a maximum of 8 minutes.
  • Participants should mention the topic or theme at the time of registration.
  • ID cards must be shown before entry into the event.
  • Participants should bring their laptops.
  • No member substitutions are allowed after the registration is finalized.
  • Teams must maintain professionalism throughout the event. Any misconduct may lead to disqualification.
  • Teams can clarify doubts only with the designated coordinators.
  • Business attire is recommended for a professional and formal dress code appearance.

Best Manager

Guidelines:

  • It is an Individual Event.
  • The details regarding the number of rounds and their descriptions will be provided on the spot.
  • Any malpractice or misbehavior towards volunteers or judges will lead to disqualification, and serious actions would be taken against the individual.
  • All participants must have a laptop and other stationery requirements.
  • Individuals eligible to participate in the Best Manager event cannot take part in any other event.
  • All members are expected to be present for every round on time; the absence of any member will lead to disqualification.
  • Participants are encouraged to be in formal attire.
  • Any doubts regarding the event should be cleared before the commencement of the event.
  • The decision of the volunteers and judges will be final.
  • The committee has the right to change the time and venue of the events.
  • Students who register for this event cannot participate in any other events.

Fusion Walk

Guidelines

  • Maximum 6 members per team, maximum teams per college.
  • The time limit for each team would be 7 minutes, which includes fusion walk, gestures, poses, and formations.
  • Each team should have a tagline representing the theme.

Guidelines

  • STYLES: Corporate, Wedding, Party vibe, and Street style.
  • Teams must choose from the above-given “STYLES.”
  • A dressing room will be provided for changing purposes.
  • You should carry your soundtracks in a pen drive in MP3 format, and it should be submitted one hour before the event.
  • The costume and the choice of generation should be shared with the POC prior.
  • The use of cigarettes, alcohol, and any unfair means is strongly prohibited.
  • Vulgarity is strongly prohibited. Any form of obscenity will lead to debarring the team from the contest.
  • No tube tops, no single strip tops; the dress should be knee-length, with no cleavage showing and no backless attire.
  • The decision of the judges will be final.

IPL Auction

Guidelines:

  • Each team should consist of three members.
  • Laptop is mandatory for the team.
  • The event consists of three rounds:
    • First round: Quiz round (Cric Quiz)
    • Second round: Connection round (Cric Connection)
    • Last round: Auction (IPL Auction)
  • The auction would take place with 8 major teams, with 3 members in each team.
  • Rules of the rounds will be announced on the spot.

Business Plan

Guidelines:

  • Each team can have a maximum of 2 members.
  • Teams must adhere to the time limit specified for the presentation. Penalties may apply for exceeding the allotted time.
  • Presentations must be submitted in PowerPoint (PPT) or Canva. Teams can use graphs, charts, and visuals for clarity.
  • Teams must bring their own laptops or USB drives for the presentation.
  • Proposals must be original. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and any instance would lead to disqualification if found guilty.
  • Business attire is recommended for a professional and formal dress code appearance.
  • Several rounds will be conducted if the situation demands.
  • Teams must maintain professionalism throughout the event. Any misconduct may lead to disqualification.
  • Teams can clarify doubts only with the designated coordinators.
  • Presentation Time: 10 minutes; Q&A Session: 2 minutes.
  • No member substitutions are allowed after the registration is finalized.

Cultural Events

Singing

Guidelines:

  • Singing any genres are allowed.
  • No language barrier for songs.
  • Duration for solo performance: 3 minutes.
  • Duration for group singing: 4 minutes.
  • Songs will automatically stop playing after the time has lapsed.
  • Karaoke music must be submitted before the event starts. Teams that fail to submit the karaoke music will not be permitted to perform on stage.
  • Participants must perform only in their assigned slots. Missing a slot will result in disqualification. Listen carefully to the announcements!

Dance

Guidelines

  • Maximum of 5-8 participants per team from each college.
  • Folk, Western, Classic – all types of genres and languages will be accepted.
  • There is no language barrier for the selection of songs.
  • Participants should ensure the content does not have any type of vulgarity or sensitive words. Any participant found with inappropriate content will be disqualified on the spot.
  • The group dance performance time should be 4 minutes only.
  • The song should be provided on a pen drive 30 minutes prior to the event.

Photography

Rules:

    • The team must have 2 participants.
    • Participants must bring their laptop and other accessories.

      • Professional Photography:
        • Professional camera is required.
        • Images should be in .jpg format.
        • Any kind of editing is not permitted.
      • Mobile Photography:
        • Photo should be taken only with a mobile camera.

Shortfilm

Guidelines:

  • Time limit: 10-15 minutes including opening and closing credits.
  • Concept/Topic is the competitor’s choice for the short film.
  • Maximum of 5 participants per team from each college.
  • Picture quality must be a minimum of 720p and a maximum of 1080p.
  • File size should not exceed 1.5GB.
  • Language Inclusion: Subtitles must be provided for movies in languages other than Tamil.
  • Adult content of any kind will not be entertained and will lead to direct disqualification.
  • The short film must be uploaded to your Google Drive, and the link with accessibility should be shared via email on or before 18th January, 2025.
  • Only registered participants’ short films will be considered for judgment (All participants in a team should have registered).
  • The film must be sent to the following email: apex@rlims.ac.in

Restrictions:

  • No offensive content.
  • The film must be original work.

Mime

Guidelines:

  • There should be 6-8 members in each team.
  • Maximum of one team per college is allowed.
  • The maximum time limit should not exceed 5 minutes.
  • Audio should be submitted in MP3 format through WhatsApp group or drive.
  • The audio files should be in MP3 format.
  • The audio files should be renamed by your team names.
  • Registered teams can get a time slot for the competition.
  • Participants are not allowed to use dialogues.
  • Participants are informed to bring their required painting equipment for face painting and wear the required dress code.

Rangoli

Guidelines:

  • Participation is open to individuals or teams (maximum 3 members).
  • Theme will be announced before the competition.
  • Competition duration will be of 60 minutes only.
  • Participants must bring their required material.
  • Teams must adhere to the time limit specified for the presentation. Penalties may apply for exceeding the allotted time.
  • The committee has the right to modify or amend the event scheduler platform of the event at any time if the situation demands it.

Treasure Hunt

Guidelines:

  • One team per college is allowed.
  • Maximum of 6 members per team is allowed.
  • Each team must announce a leader at the time of registration.
  • Each team will be given the first hint, and the participants must find the remaining.
  • Teams should complete all the tasks in order; otherwise, they will be disqualified.
  • On-the-spot task rounds will be conducted.
  • Use of gadgets is prohibited.
  • A team must stay together. It cannot split up to find different clues.
  • Any doubts regarding the event should be cleared before the commencement of the event.
  • The decision of the volunteers and judges will be final.
  • The committee has the right to change the time and venue of the events.

General Guidelines

  • All participants should carry identity proof (i.e., College ID Card).
  • APEX is for UG Students from Various Disciplines.
  • All participants must always carry the letter from the college authority (in case ID cards are not issued).
  • All participants are required to always carry their respective college ID cards within the college premises.
  • All team members should be from the same college/institute.
  • Students who would like to take part in the events can register online before the date of the event.
  • A participant can participate in only one event at a time.
  • Modifications with respect to the teams will not be permitted after registration.
  • All the events will commence at the scheduled time. Punctuality will be appreciated. If the timing is changed, it will be informed via WhatsApp or mail.
  • The participants must report to the venue 30 minutes before the commencement of their respective events. Teams failing to report at the specified time will cause negative marks.
  • Rules are subject to change at the discretion of the management/organizers.
  • Each event will have a specific set of rules and regulations. Participants are expected to go through and adhere to the same.
  • Participants should go through the event rules and adhere to the specifics.
  • Participation, props, music, etc., for certain events should be confirmed pre-registration if required, by contacting the event coordinators.
  • Participants should carry pen drives and laptops for their personal use.
  • All file submissions like pictures, videos, and audio should be done in the prescribed format. Delayed submissions will not be entertained.
  • The best possible support would be from our side in case of any technical glitch or error that occurs during the event; all other issues should be managed at the participants’ own risk.
  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and any instance would lead to disqualification if found guilty.
  • Criteria for the overall championship include participation in a maximum number of events and the total scores obtained in the competition.
  • Registration fee per student is Rs.500.
  • Registration fee is inclusive of food, refreshments, and certificates.
  • Accommodation will be provided to outstation participants. In case of late bookings, accommodation will be arranged at external hotels at a minimum cost.
  • Participants are advised to take care of their personal belongings. Organizers will not be held responsible for any damage or loss.
  • Outside food is strictly not encouraged.
  • Any kind of vulgarity or usage of offensive language inside the college premises is strictly prohibited, and any such instance would lead to disqualification.
  • Smoking, drinking, and consumption of any objectionable ‘substances’ are strictly prohibited, and any instance will lead to disqualification of the whole team.
  • All participants will be awarded a Certificate of Participation.
  • The committee has the right to modify or amend the event schedule or platform of the event at any time if the situation demands it.
  • In case of any unforeseen circumstances, committee members/management have the sole authority to make decisions.
  • Participants of the events should make necessary arrangements to travel back towards the end of the day.
  • The judge’s decision will be final in all circumstances.
