R.L. Institute of Management Studies (RLIMS) proudly organized a distinguished Guest Lecture on “My Journey as an Entrepreneur” on 21.08.2026. The event aimed to equip students with practical insights into entrepreneurship, innovation, and the lived experiences of successful business leaders in managing sustainable enterprises. The program featured an eminent entrepreneur and business leader who shared invaluable expertise on contemporary business practices and the entrepreneurial journey. Mrs. Iniyaa Raja, Managing Director of Cafe TN59, Madurai, delivered an inspiring presentation on her entrepreneurial journey, sharing experiences in establishing and managing a successful food and beverage enterprise. She elaborated on the challenges and opportunities in entrepreneurship, particularly in the competitive hospitality industry. Her narrative emphasized the importance of innovation, customer-centricity, and sustainable business practices in achieving long-term success. She inspired students to pursue entrepreneurship with resilience, creativity, and a commitment to social responsibility.The Guest Lecture was designed to provide MBA students, faculty, and stakeholders with a platform to explore the dynamics of entrepreneurship and business innovation. The discussions aimed to bridge academic business concepts with real-world entrepreneurial applications, encouraging participants to think critically about opportunity identification, resource management, and value creation. The event also aligned with the global celebration of World Entrepreneurs Day, recognizing and fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship within the institutional community.

Significance of the Topics:

• Entrepreneurial Journey and Business Innovation: Mrs. Iniyaa Raja’s insights underscored the importance of continuous innovation, market awareness, and customer engagement in building and scaling successful enterprises. 
• Sustainable and Responsible Entrepreneurship: The speaker emphasized the significance of integrating social responsibility and sustainability into business operations, reflecting the core tenets of PRIME and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).

August 13. 2026: A special conclave on Career Opportunities in the Banking Sector was organised at R L Institute of Management Studies (RLIMS), Madurai, located on Madurai–Aruppukottai Road, in association with the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF), Mumbai.

The seminar was attended by a large number of students from various colleges in and around Madurai, providing them with valuable insights into career opportunities in the banking and financial services sector.

The programme commenced with the welcome address by Dr. M. Subramanian, Director, RLIMS. Mr. Deepak Kumar Lalla, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), IIBF, delivered the special address and spoke extensively about the future growth prospects, career opportunities and professional skills required to build a successful career in the banking sector.

Mr. Bijay Kumar Jha, CDO, IIBF, highlighted the significance of IIBF certification programmes related to the banking sector and explained how these certifications can enhance students’ employability and career prospects.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Padmavathi, Vice President – Commerce, Subbalakshmi College. The seminar served as a valuable platform for students to gain a better understanding of the banking industry and explore diverse career opportunities in the sector.

Madurai (Aug 11, 2026) : Foundations of Digital Finance, a new academic book authored by Prof. P. Selvam, Dr. M. Subramanian and Dr. K. S. Karthik Babu, was launched at RL Institute of Management Studies (RLIMS), Madurai.

The book was formally launched by Dr. Ramasubbu, Secretary, RLIMS and Publisher, Dinamalar, Madurai Edition, marking a significant academic contribution in the field of digital finance and contemporary financial management.

The book focuses on the fundamental concepts and emerging dimensions of digital finance, providing learners with insights into the changing financial ecosystem, technology-driven financial services and the evolving role of digital technologies in the finance sector. It is intended to serve as a useful academic resource for students, educators and professionals seeking to understand the foundations of digital finance.

The authors, Prof. P. Selvam, Dr. M. Subramanian and Dr. K. S. Karthik Babu, expressed their gratitude to Shanlax Publications for their support in bringing the academic work to publication.

The book launch reflects RLIMS’s continued commitment to promoting academic excellence, research, knowledge creation and industry-relevant learning in the field of management education.

The Career Trek programme for the MBA I Year (2026–28 Batch) of RL Institute of Management Studies (RLIMS), Madurai, has been kickstarted with the objective of enhancing students’ managerial knowledge, presentation skills, business awareness and understanding of contemporary corporate practices.

The programme provides students with an opportunity to explore various aspects of business and management through structured presentations, industry analysis and book reviews. As part of the Career Trek, students are engaged in presentations on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), enabling them to understand the relevance of sustainability and responsible business practices in today’s corporate environment.

The programme also covers company and industry analyses involving leading business organisations and sectors, along with book reviews on management and leadership concepts. These activities are designed to encourage students to analyse real-world business situations, develop critical thinking and communicate their ideas effectively.

The Career Trek is being coordinated by the faculty members of RLIMS, with guidance from Dr. Pugalanthi and Prof. Selvam. The initiative is aimed at providing MBA students with a practical and engaging learning experience beyond the conventional classroom environment.

Through this initiative, RLIMS continues to focus on developing industry-ready, socially responsible and future-ready management professionals among its MBA students.
